WELCOME
The Stewart Family and partners welcome you to Abayance Bay, on picturesque Lake Koocanusa in NW Montana. Built by Larry Stewart, a longtime resident and local builder, Abayance Bay is the fulfillment of his vision to bring accessibility, top flight hospitality and world-class recreation to the shores of the Lake. Every part of Abayance Bay was thoughtfully crafted to complement the surrounding Kootenai National Forest and celebrate the traditions of this gorgeous region.

Abayance Bay is the only full-service marina and hospitality facility on the US side of Lake Koocanusa. Our amenities include: 200 boat slips, boat launch, full-service marina repair shop (year round), outdoor bar, concert amphitheater, year-round restaurant, tent and RV camping, 2 beaches and 40 acres of recreation space. Come have a meal and drinks, spend a day boating, host your next private event or simply enjoy the Lake Life with our Abayance Bay team!
GETTING HERE
The closest airport to Abayance Bay is FCA – Kalispell/Glacier Park International Airport. From FCA, follow US-2 E for 4 miles to MT-40 W. Take 40-W to US-93 N / Whitefish. From Whitefish, take US-93 N approximately 50 minutes/52 miles. Turn left on MT-37 S, for approximately 6 miles to Mariner Dr. Turn right and follow the driveway down the hill into Abayance Bay. The venue address for Maps Apps is 290 Abayance Bay Drive, Rexford, MT 59930.
LAKE KOOCANUSA
Lake Koocanusa was formed by damming the Kootenai River with the Libby Dam in 1972. It extends 48 miles on the US side with a depth of 350+ ft. It is a popular recreational destination for boating, fishing, and camping, and is home to a diverse range of fish species including rainbow trout, kokanee salmon, cuthroat, burbot, whitefish and bull trout. As a beloved part of the region’s natural landscape, Lake Koocanusa is cherished by residents and visitors alike.
PACIFIC NORTHWEST TRAIL
The Pacific Northwest Trail (PNT) is a legendary 1,200-mile hiking trail running from the Continental Divide to the Pacific Ocean on Washington’s Olympic Coast. The PNT crosses 3 national parks and 7 national forests, including a 1 mile section through Abayance Bay. PNT hikers often stop to re-provision at our Marina Store and to spend a night in the campgrounds. Abayance Bay welcomes all PNT travelers, from day hikers to thru-hikers, and is proud to support the PNT and National Scenic Trails.
